Basketball Game Preview: Rappahannock Raiders vs. Northumberland Indians

Rappahannock and Northumberland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Rappahannock Raiders will square off against the Northumberland Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with 13 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Rappahannock turned things around against Surry County on Saturday. They walked away with a 57-45 win over the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Northumberland beat Colonial Beach 77-67 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Rappahannock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Northumberland, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Rappahannock took a serious blow against Northumberland when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 73-39. Can Rappahannock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
