Volleyball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Comes Up Short

Bishop Rosecrans was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Grove City Christian Eagles. The Bishops were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Bishop Rosecrans started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-10, 25-18, 25-16.

Grove City Christian can attribute much of their success to Axia Yoakum, who had 14 digs and two aces. Yoakum has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Bishop Rosecrans' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Grove City Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Rosecrans will square off against rival Millersport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Grove City Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Fairfield Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
