Basketball Preview: Swansea Tigers vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats
Swansea has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Swansea will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Bearcats are ranked 135th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 92-22, which was the final score in Swansea's tilt against the Diamond Hornets on Thursday. Swansea was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-12.
Brookland-Cayce can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Gilbert with a 62-58 win. The win was just what Brookland-Cayce needed coming off of a 69-47 loss in their prior match.
Swansea's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Brookland-Cayce, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Swansea took a serious blow against the Bearcats when the teams last played back in January, falling 67-31. Can Swansea avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
