Game recap: Manvel takes down Pasadena Memorial

Manvel (Texas) overcame Pasadena Memorial (Pasadena, Texas), 35-14.

The Mavericks were up 14-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Shane McCarley touchdown pass to Carlos Thompson in the second quarter.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at seven.

Reggie Turner made a difference for the Mavericks. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

McCarley stood out for Manvel in the win. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.



The loss comes after Pasadena Memorial defeated Channelview 49-12 last week. The loss snapped Pasadena Memorial's 3-game winning streak.

Pasadena Memorial (3-1) goes up against Dobie in a 5A Region III District 22 game matchup next week, while Manvel (3-1) locks horns with Alvin also in a 5A Region III District 22 game.
