Piedmont Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pioneer, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Piedmont Hills Pirates blew past the Pioneer Mustangs 8-1 on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Pirates have beaten the Mustangs on their field since May 30, 2015.

The team relied heavily on Toby Torres, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Tran, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win got Piedmont Hills back to even at 1-1. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Piedmont Hills will take on Willow Glen at 3:30 p.m. on March 6th. As for Pioneer, they will square off against Del Mar at 4:00 p.m. on March 6th.
