Basketball Game Preview: Eaton Reds vs. Fort Lupton Bluedevils

The Eaton Reds and the Fort Lupton Bluedevils will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Fort Lupton likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Eaton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Delta, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win.

Eaton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Crew Haythorn out in front who posted 29 points. Those 29 points gave Haythorn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ely Madaleno, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Fort Lupton ended up a good deal behind Aspen on Saturday and lost 58-39.

Eaton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Fort Lupton, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Eaton against Fort Lupton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 71-42 win. Do the Reds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluedevils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
