Softball Game Preview: Alexandria Valley Cubs vs. Curry Yellowjackets

The Alexandria Valley Cubs will take on the Curry Yellowjackets at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Alexandria 2.7, Curry 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Alexandria is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Plainview by a score of 3-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Meanwhile, Curry posted their closest win since April 5th on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Hamilton. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Aggies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 43-11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Curry, their win bumped their record up to 53-4.
