Baseball Game Preview: Deep Run Wildcats vs. King William Cavaliers

The Deep Run Wildcats will head out to square off against the King William Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Deep Run 3.5, King William 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Deep Run's last matchup with Atlee could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King William). Everything went their way against West Point on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Cavaliers, who have now won seven games in a row.

King William pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Deep Run, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Deep Run came out on top in a nail-biter against King William in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
