Basketball Recap: Jackson Skates Past Mays with Ease

Jackson's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 79-35 win over the Mays Raiders. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janiya McCoy, who went 6 for 7 en route to 13 points and four steals. McCoy is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cayden Cornish, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points.

Jackson was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Mays, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10.

Jackson will challenge Midtown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. As for Mays, they will face off against Forest Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mays is facing Forest Park at the right time seeing as Forest Park is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
