A win for Fillmore Central just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 61-18 loss at the hands of the Wood River Eagles. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

It was another big night for Beau Rohrich, who rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry for Wood River. Rohrich's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 125 rushing yards dating back to last season. Jace Stewart got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Fillmore Central's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wood River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers takes on Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Fillmore Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wood River, they will challenge Gibbon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wood River is facing Gibbon at the right time seeing as Gibbon is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
