Basketball Recap: St. Thomas More Academy Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

St. Thomas More Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 72-54 to the Grace Christian Crusaders. The Chancellors haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

St. Thomas More Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gabe Galloway, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 18 points. John Paul Mack was another key player, putting up 17 points and three steals.

Josiah Currie was nothing short of spectacular for Grace Christian: he shot 75% from the field en route to 18 points along with five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Jacques, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Grace Christian's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas More Academy will host Durham Flight HomeSchool at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Grace Christian has already played their next contest (against Greensboro Day School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
