Basketball Recap: Nantahala Wins Going Away Against Blue Ridge Early College

Nantahala won the last time they faced Blue Ridge Early College and things went their way on Friday too. The Nantahala Hawks enjoyed a cozy 83-64 victory over the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats.

Loss or not, Blue Ridge Early College got some senior leadership from Conor McCall and Isaiah Palestino. McCall dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards, while Palestino dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was William Russell, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Nantahala's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nantahala and Polk County will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
