Volleyball Recap: Dickinson Has No Trouble Against Fort Bend Elkins

Dickinson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Fort Bend Elkins on Tuesday. The Gators blew past the Knights 3-0. The Gators not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

The win didn't come easy: Fort Bend Elkins scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-19.

Angela Allen was the offensive standout of the contest as she had four digs and three aces. She has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last five times she's played. Bailey Whitten also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Dickinson was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Elkins only served three aces.

Dickinson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Dickinson will head out on the road to challenge Sterling at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridge Point at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
