Basketball Recap: Norman Piles Up the Points Against Norman North

Norman came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Norman North Timberwolves to the tune of 71-44. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Timberwolves are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Norman had a senior duo take command as Keeley Parks dropped a double-double with 30 points and 13 boards and Halyn Browning almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. Parks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 48 games she's played dating back to last season. Ady Hybl was another key player, putting up five points.

Norman's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. As for Norman North, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
