Softball Recap: Poughkeepsie Comes Up Short

Port Chester hit Poughkeepsie with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-1 to the Rams, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.

Poughkeepsie's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Chester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Poughkeepsie will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rondout Valley at 4:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Port Chester, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-2 win against Mount Vernon on the 20th.
