Cross had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles 62-35. The Stingrays are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight dating back to last season.
Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Mayers led the charge by scoring 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. What's more, Mayers also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Cross didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-27 victory against Hilton Head Prep on the 20th. Hilton Head Christian Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 45-27 win against Coastal HomeSchool on the 19th.
