Softball Recap: La Jolla Country Day Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for La Jolla Country Day's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Coastal Academy Stingrays on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Torreys' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

La Jolla Country Day dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Coastal Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Looking ahead, La Jolla Country Day will challenge Mission Bay at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Coastal Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
