Basketball Recap: Perquimans Pirates vs. Washington County Panthers
Perquimans was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Washington County Panthers 73-46. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Panthers are ranked 59th).

Washington County was led to victory by Christian Phelps and Brandon Carter Jr.. Phelps dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards, while Carter Jr. dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Carter Jr.'s evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kwalik Norman, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.
Perquimans' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Washington County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
