Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Takes Down Appleton East in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Kimberly had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Appleton East Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. The Papermakers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-8.

Alex Krause paced Kimberly's offense, picking up 11 kills. Krause got some help from Blake Zielinski and his 27 assists. Zielinski was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Kimberly's win bumped their record up to 25-9. As for Appleton East, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kimberly will challenge Kaukauna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Appleton East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
