Baseball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short on the Road Against Monroe Central

Centerville kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Monroe Central Golden Bears by a score of 13-12. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Grady Blake and Arian Van Skyock did some serious damage despite the final result: Blake scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Van Skyock scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brady Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centerville will take on Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe Central, they will square off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
