Corning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central Valley Falcons. Even though they lost, the Cardinals' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Bruno Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Corning's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central Valley, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Corning wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-0 defeat against University Prep on the 11th. Central Valley has also already played their next match (against Trinity), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
