Baseball Game Preview: Ripon Tigers vs. Kettle Moraine Lutheran Chargers

The Ripon Tigers will face off against the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Chargers at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Ripon beat Randolph 7-2.

Shay Otto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Otto was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Otto wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braden Dudzinski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Dudzinski has posted since back in April. Adam Mashock was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Ripon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Kettle Moraine Lutheran had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Timberwolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since April 8th.

Ripon's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18. As for Kettle Moraine Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Ripon suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Kettle Moraine Lutheran when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
