Volleyball Recap: Lewiston Takes a Loss

Lewiston was the 3-2 winner over North Yarmouth Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lewiston took North Yarmouth Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-16, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12.

North Yarmouth Academy found their leader in sophomore Selena Nguyen, who had 16 digs and eight aces. Those eight aces set a new season-high mark for Nguyen. Ivy Hach also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for North Yarmouth Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Lewiston will square off against Gardiner at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Yarmouth Academy, they will welcome Gray-New Gloucester at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
