Village Christian and Heritage Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Village Christian will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Village Christian saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against South Pasadena by a score of 5-1. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly four runs.

The team relied heavily on Leah Mosley, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alina Newman, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Heritage Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Golden Valley on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Grizzlies. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Brooklyn Mireles spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Heritage Christian got a massive performance out of Tatum Tassio, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Erika Laufer was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Village Christian's record is now 8-5. As for Heritage Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Village Christian couldn't quite get it done against Heritage Christian when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-4. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
