Softball Recap: North Bay Haven Academy Makes It Five in a Row at Home

North Bay Haven Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Beechwood Tigers a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addison Mallon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Kalli Stokes looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Kaylee Goodpaster and Khloe Hill did most of the damage at the plate: Goodpaster scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Hill scored three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Hill has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Goff, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

North Bay Haven Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

North Bay Haven Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Beechwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Coming up, North Bay Haven Academy will take on Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beechwood, they will face off against Villa Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
