Ruidoso dropped their record down to 16-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-0 to the Robertson Cardinals. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 18-4 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Jaya Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alexx Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Baylor Pritchett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
As for Robertson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
On Robertson's side, not much got past Ariana Sanchez, who gave up just seven hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Ruidoso off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amor Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Griego, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Coming up, Ruidoso will face off against Mesilla Valley Christian School at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The SonBlazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Robertson, they will challenge Tularosa on Saturday.
