New Trier posted their closest victory since May 2nd on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Libertyville Wildcats, sneaking past 4-3. The Trevians haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

New Trier's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Libertyville, they dropped their record down to 21-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

New Trier and Libertyville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Trevians will square off against Maine West at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (150 vs. 492). Meanwhile, Libertyville (ranked 21st) will meet Hersey (ranked 241st) at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
