Basketball Recap: Goochland Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Goochland, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 48-37 victory over Maggie Walker on Monday. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Goochland pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Maggie Walker, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goochland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Charlottesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maggie Walker, they will venture away from home to square off against West Point at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
