Baseball Recap: Lowell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lowell entered their tilt with Lincoln on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Mustangs 4-2. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Julian Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reggie Fong, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Jhomar Ronquillo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lowell's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Lowell has already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Aragon on the 22nd. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-4 win against Balboa on the 24th.
