Volleyball Recap: Fall River Takes a Loss

Fall River suffered their biggest defeat since November 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Montello Hilltoppers, falling 3-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-8.

Natalie Fietz paced Fall River's offense, picking up four kills. Fietz got some help from Addison McDonald and her six assists. McDonald was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Montello can attribute much of their success to Rylan Harder, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Harder has posted over her last seven matches.

Fall River now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Montello, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Fall River has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Portage on the 18th. As for Montello, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Dodgeland on the 18th.
