Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Excel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-68 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chattahoochee Cougars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (65), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Excel Christian Academy lost, don't look at DaMir McBride. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, McBride is now averaging an impressive 4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mier Bell, who shot 78% from the field en route to 17 points.

Excel Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chattahoochee, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
