Softball Recap: Vicksburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Vicksburg walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Grenada Chargers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted since March 22nd.

Shandrea Lockridge was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zion Harvey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was Vicksburg's third in a row) raised their record to 8-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Grenada, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chargers beat Vicksburg by a score of 6-3 later that day.
