Columbus entered their tilt with Shiner on Monday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They put the hurt on the Comanches with a sharp 7-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Columbus' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Shiner, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-5.
