Football Game Preview: Norwood Mavericks vs. Simla Cubs + How To Watch

The Norwood Mavericks will face off against the Simla Cubs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Simla will be up against a hot Norwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Mavericks put the hurt on Dolores with a sharp 46-25 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Simla never let their opponents score on Friday. They really took it to South Park for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-0 victory. The contest marked the Cubs' most dominant win of the season.

Norwood better keep an eye on Ethan Kissam. He was instrumental in Simla's win, rushing for 105 yards and two TDs. Kissam showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards. Connor Maranville got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Simla didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited South Park to a completion percentage of just 30%. The Cubs weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 75%.

Norwood's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Simla, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Norwood has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 227.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Simla struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 205.1 rushing yards.
