The Frontier Titans will face off against the Wasco Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wasco will be up against a hot Frontier team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Frontier blew past Lemoore 9-2 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Baden Conley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Conley was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charley Hawkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Frontier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Wasco never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on McFarland with a sharp 18-0 win. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Like Frontier, Wasco also got a great game from a two-way player: Cedes Saldana. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Saldana has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Wasco let Abby Salazar and Jazzy Juarez run wild. Salazar scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Juarez went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Gomez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Frontier pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wasco, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Frontier has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wasco struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
