Basketball Recap: Amherst Triumphs

There's no place like home for Amherst, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 win over the Nekoosa Papermakers. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Amherst's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Nekoosa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
