Softball Recap: Mcgavock Extends Winning Streak to Three

McGavock waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Cane Ridge Ravens with a sharp 19-1 win. Considering the Raiders have won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Micayla Russell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, McGavock let Karleigh Stoltz and Javiana Taimanglo run wild. Stoltz went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Taimanglo went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Stoltz has posted since back in March. Bailey Kelley was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

McGavock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .684. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

McGavock's record is now 15-7. As for Cane Ridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

As of now, neither McGavock nor the Ravens have any future games scheduled.
