Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Muscle Shoals

Muscle Shoals won the last time they faced Oak Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Muscle Shoals Trojans secured a 58-54 W over the Oak Mountain Eagles. The win was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Eagles are ranked 12th).

Muscle Shoals is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Oak Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-3.

Muscle Shoals didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-48 loss against Murphy on the 27th. As for Oak Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 83-37 victory against Central on the 27th.
