Baseball Recap: Stevenson Takes a Loss

Stevenson's last matchup with Franklin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Spartans lost 8-0 to the Patriots. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Stevenson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Machowicz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Machowicz snagged this season.

Stevenson's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Franklin, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

While Stevenson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
