Volleyball Game Preview: Silver Lake Mustangs vs. Dorchester Longhorns

The Silver Lake Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Dorchester Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver Lake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Silver Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Harvard, taking the game 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Silver Lake was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Dorchester came up short against Meridian on Thursday and fell 2-0.

Dorchester was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23.

Silver Lake's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Dorchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything went Silver Lake's way against Dorchester in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Silver Lake made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
