Baseball Recap: Roane County Comes Up Short

Roane County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sissonville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders fell just short of the Indians by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

Roane County got a good showing from Eric Starcher, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Starcher has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carter Kinder was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Jacob Greathouse was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Roane County now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Sissonville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Coming up, Roane County will face off against Webster County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sissonville, they will take on Williamstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
