Recap: Boulder Creek Jaguars vs. Pinnacle Pioneers
The Boulder Creek Jaguars pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-62 to Pinnacle. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Boulder Creek of the 97-91 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Auditya, who scored 16 points. Auditya continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Andrew Bhesania was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Leading Pinnacle to victory were Ryan Nelson and Saleem Gakiza. Nelson scored 20 points along with three steals, while Gakiza scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gakiza has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Braylon Johnson, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Boulder Creek's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder Creek will square off against Sunnyslope at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunnyslope has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last five contests. As for Pinnacle, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
