Recap: South Kingstown Rebels vs. North Kingstown Skippers
On Thursday, the South Kingstown Rebels faced the North Kingstown Skippers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with South Kingstown falling 32-14. They have struggled against North Kingstown recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, South Kingstown saw an underclassman step up: Dante Peno rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Victor Encarnacion had a dynamite game for North Kingstown, rushing for 239 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Encarnacion has been hot recently, having posted six or more solo tackles the last four times he's played. Trent Sterner also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
South Kingstown has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for North Kingstown, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-4 record.
