Softball Game Preview: Rehobeth Rebels vs. Helena Huskies

The Rehobeth Rebels will square off against the Helena Huskies at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Helena will be up against a hot Rehobeth squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Rebels came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Spanish Fort.

Rehobeth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessa Buker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave Buker a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Helena posted their closest victory since April 19th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Chilton County 3-1. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Carrington Schiefer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 26 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macie Brashears, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Rehobeth's victory bumped their record up to 24-17-1. As for Helena, their win bumped their record up to 31-15-2.

Helena's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rehobeth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337.
