Basketball Recap: Silver Bluff Comes Up Short

Silver Bluff's game on Friday was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats by a score of 33-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since December 1, 2023.

It was another big night for Kamryn Etheredge, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points and five steals for Brookland-Cayce. That makes it three consecutive games in which Etheredge has scored at least a third of Brookland-Cayce's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maci Cobb, who posted eight points and three steals.

Silver Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Brookland-Cayce, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Silver Bluff won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ben Lippen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brookland-Cayce, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats take on the Ashley Hall Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Brookland-Cayce is facing Ashley Hall at the right time seeing as Ashley Hall is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
