Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Mountain Range Mustangs + How To Watch

The Westminster Wolves will face off against the Mountain Range Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-29, which was the final score in Westminster's tilt against Boulder on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Westminster saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayla Talmich-Martinez posted 14 points and five boards. Talmich-Martinez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amilia Abeyta, who scored five points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Mountain Range was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Riverdale Ridge and fell 94-23. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Ravens are ranked 18th).

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Mountain Range, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
