Baseball Recap: Eagle Point Takes a Loss

Eagle Point extended their losing streak to eight on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-15 in the process. They came up short against the Churchill Lancers, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-1 defeat on Saturday.

As for Churchill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Churchill's part, the team relied heavily on Chase Hartley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Hartley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Arbogast, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Eagle Point will take on North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Churchill, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sheldon at 5:00 p.m.
