League recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy scores huge upset over Veritas Prep

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Veritas Prep, who took down 179th ranked Veritas Prep, 58-6. Matt Munsil threw for 212 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 81 yards in the win.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's Jake Powers recorded the longest rushing play in V Section IV this season in his game against the Falcons last week. Powers' team bested Veritas Prep as he sprinted for 66 yards on the play and finished with 112 in all.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's dynamic duo of Munsil and Ben McKeighan proved tough for James Allen's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Greyson Boyll helped Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 50 yards.

Will Munsil's team's dynamic duo of Munsil and McKeighan proved to be unstoppable against the Falcons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Preston Kalos made the biggest impact on defense this week as Scottsdale Christian Academy lost to Northwest Christian. The 6-foot-1 senior.

He went 14-17 with 1 interceptions.

Munsil put up the best numbers through the air as the Spartans beat Veritas Prep. Munsil's favorite target this week was McKeighan, who caught 8 passes for 126 yards.

McKeighan was the best receiver in the league this week as Scottsdale Preparatory Academy defeated the Falcons.

Braxton Barger was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 265 yards on 16 carries as Chandler Prep beat Veritas Prep. Sam Hanson also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.

Barger was a beast in the backfield as the Titans topped Imagine Prep Coolidge.

6-foot-5 quarterback Brandon Haagsma of Valley Christian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 268. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cole Lenderink. The Scottsdale Christian Academy star has 11 catches for 186 yards.

Fans got a thrill when Jack Johnson and Lenderink connected against the Crusaders. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in V Section IV this season.
