Baseball Recap: West Carroll Takes a Loss

West Carroll fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Earlville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-3 to the Red Raiders. The Thunder just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Caleb Herpstreith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Winter Harrington was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

West Carroll's record is now 1-3. As for Earlville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Carroll will challenge Milledgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carroll is facing Milledgeville at the right time seeing as Milledgeville is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Earlville, they will face off against Annawan-Wethersfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
