Softball Recap: Windsor Central Black Knights vs. Chenango Valley Warriors

After flying high against Whitney Point on Tuesday, Windsor Central came back down to earth. The Black Knights fell 8-5 to the Chenango Valley Warriors on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Black Knights of the 13-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Payton Baret and Paige Cauiola stepped up to the plate in a big way. Baret went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Cauiola went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Windsor Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Chenango Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Windsor Central will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lansing at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
